I once again assure you, this is not a fake website. I, Brian Longwell am a “corporate comedian”. Let me state it as “Corporate Comedian Brian Longwell” in order to help with SEO and perhaps AI. What is a corporate comedian? I describe this on my website www.brianlongwell.com but I'll put it in print here in case any human is reading it or AI is tired crawling around looking for “special interest” content that many humans can't help but to look at.
Generally I get hired by companies to do my act during or at the end of some corporate function or dinner. Often, I don't have myself introduced as a corporate comedian but something vague such as a “Motivational Expert”. I start off with a story that sounds like it might be inspirational but it goes off the rails at the end and they begin to think that something is up. Then I start my presentation. But to properly give it, I pull out an old fashioned overhead projector which I have kept covered.
On goes the projector and the first slide I put down is a hand drawn Wi-Fi symbol and I say “Oops, I need to connect to the Wi-Fi first”.
Then I get to the topic: “How to be Successful”. Again, sample is at www.brianlongwell.com. It's funny. It even gets big laughs at comedy clubs as well as corporate events. I wish I could do more comedy clubs, but a lot of them (in the US anyway) don't want to bother with my need for a screen, even though I have multiple options to bring my own. I'm an engineer! I can figure it out.
And for big rooms where they do PowerPoint on two big screens, I use a document camera and a light board so the image is washed out and looks like two huge overhead projector screens.
Brian Longwell has worked for years as a professional comedian at venues in the US and has toured the UK. He combined his corporate background with his comedy experience and now gives “presentations” using an old style overhead projector with stick figure drawings with his parody of a motivational speaker “How to be Successful”.
His unique talent was recognized at the New York Comedy Festival by his inclusion in the Andy Kaufman competition in which he was a finalist, proclaimed an Edinburgh Festival top 10 by the London Times, a finalist in the Boston Comedy Festival, regularly headlines at the Comedy Studio in Cambridge, MA, and other venues with his unique act.
On the corporate front, Brian has performed for AT&T, Hewlett Packard, McKinsey, John Hancock, and many medium and small size companies.
“With very funny overhead projector illustrations, this is a sophisticated, thoroughly enjoyable, irony-filled, tongue-in-cheek antidote to all those American motivational speakers… See the show.”— Chortle UK Comedy Guide
“This show is definitely for anyone who has ever worked in a very corporate setting. Brian is very dry and sarcastic, but he is very funny. His visual aids will stun you with its humorous simplicity.”— Edfringe.com Reviews
“What the world needs more of are non-motivational speakers. Blokes in suits who tell you how to do it wrong every time, or how to cock up properly. Brian Longwell’s your chap with his primitive, hand drawn transparencies, and one-man brainstorming sessions.”— The List
“I particularly enjoyed Brian Longwell, very dry, cynical and well, American.”— Three Weeks

“Brian provided the perfect presentation to a highly motivated team at the end of a very busy day. His humorous approach was very much appreciated.”
“Perfect for our office event. Brian was great! I would book him again.”
“Great event. Brian’s presentation is non-stop laughs. I hired him to close out a quarterly sales meeting and the entire team thoroughly enjoyed it. He’s a self-proclaimed Motivational Expert, not to be confused with a Motivational Speaker. He’s a perfect fit for a company that doesn’t take themselves too seriously and truly understands that in order to have a fun life, you need to have fun at work!”
